Intermediate 2 Mathematics - Unit 3
The Third Unit in Intermediate 2 Maths has 3 Outcomes:-
After these four outcomes candidates are then ready to sit their NAB. A NAB (National Assessment Bank) is provided by the SQA as a test of questions based at level C and is the minimum competence, in other words has to be passed by each candidate in order for them to sit the final examination. Candidates are allowed 2 attempts, sometimes 3 in exceptional circumstances.
A Mini Preliminary Examination is now due.
Please Note
After Candidates have studied units 1 and 2 they get the choice whether to do Unit 3 which is the more harder work that would be completed in the Standard Grade Credit Course or National 5. However Candidates do not have to study this unit but if they don't they have to study the Applications of Mathematics (Social Context in Mathematics) which is known to be a lot easier than Unit 3 and gives candidates who struggle a chance of a better grade. HOWEVER, if a candidate wishes to enter the Higher Mathematics Course, they MUST do Unit 3 ! If they don't they will not be allowed entry due to the fact that Unit 3 is continuously used in the Higher Course. So I would recommend that candidates who are not taking Mathematics any further than Intermediate 2 to take the Applications of Mathematics.
